How We Started
Marin Community Music School was founded in 2009 as the community home of Stringletter Publishing, publishers of Acoustic Guitar and Strings magazines. Now an independent, California public-benefit corporation, the school maintains a close relationship with Stringletter.
Facilities & Location
We're located at 55 San Anselmo Avenueat the intersection of Belle Avenue in downtown San Anselmo, just one block east of the post office. Our students come from all over Marin County, and from as far as the East Bay and South Bay.
Teaching Approach
Our goal is to help our students become lifelong musicians by reinforcing their innate love of music, acquainting them with vital musical traditions, and teaching them the basic technical skills of their chosen instrument along with music reading.
