It’s no surprise that Acoustic Guitar’ editors named Ed Gerhard’s album Luna to their “240 Essential Acoustic Albums” list in the February 2010 20th Anniversary Collector’s Issue. Since his debut recording Night Birds in 1987, Gerhard has been attracting attention and praise from guitarists and listeners alike, and received a 2005 Grammy for his contribution to Henry Mancini: Pink Guitar. The Boston Globe says: “Gerhard does not write instrumentals. He writes songs only a guitar can sing.”
