STAFF INSTRUCTOR: GUITAR, BASS GUITAR

San Francisco native Gabriel Diamond is a familiar figure on the Bay Area club scene, where he regularly performs rock, funk, blues, and world music in a variety of bands and as a soloist.

Gabriel began his guitar studies with Bay Area blues and funk guitar legend Jerry Cortez and was later mentored by Sechaba Mokoena of Zulu Spear and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. He majored in ethnomusicology at Sonoma State University, studying the sacred music of South Asia with master musician Laxmi G. Tewari, and earned his Journeyman's Certificate in Audio Engineering at the California Recording Institute.

Having performed roots and blues on concert stages from Nashville to Los Angeles and in Asia, Gabriel established his teaching practice in Marin in 2006, concentrating on introducing younger students to rock, blues, and other popular guitar styles.
