This is a completely hands on workshop, with participants playing from the beginning.

You'll learn movable four note chords and voice leading concepts along with the right hand techniques that allow the compact propulsive style that exemplifies swing music.

You should have facility with learning new chord shapes, and a level of technique that includes the ability to play barre chords (barre chords won't be used, but the chord shapes that we'll learn are of a similar level of difficulty).

Having taken this workshop, you'll be able to use the materials provided to play rhythm on pretty much any swing tune in any key.
