Laura Magnani earned a double degree in piano and voice at the Conservatory “F. Morlacchi” in Perugia, Italy, where she later completed her Ph.D. in piano, and the diploma in piano at the Accademia Di Santa Cecilia in Rome along with studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Laura has enjoyed a rich and varied career of performing and teaching in her native country before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2013. In addition to teaching piano to students at all levels, Laura is an accomplished solo pianist, chamber musician, and coach as well as an expert in accompanying, coaching, and training vocalists. A native of Spoleto, Laura has been an active participant in Gian Carlo Menotti’s internationally-renowned Festival of Two Worlds and is herself the co-founder of Festival Pianistico di Spoleto. Laura’s repertoire ranges from Baroque to Contemporary, with a special predilection for Romanticism, and she recently recorded a CD/DVD of solo piano works by Chopin, Liszt and Prokofieff. Laura taught piano in the Italian public schools for almost 25 years, becoming tenured in 2004 at the ‘Pianciani-Manzoni School” in Spoleto.
